New Year's Resolution

"So what's your resolution going to be?" That seems to be the question everyone asks this time of year. And my answer is, "I'm not going to make one." In fact, since 2004, I haven't made a resolution. At the beginning of 2004, the headmaster of the school where I taught, challenged us to seek God's direction and adopt a yearly verse. So that's what I do. Every year about this time, I begin asking God to direct me to a verse that will help me grow closer to Him. It has been amazing to see how the verse that He shows me in January applies to my life throughout the year.
Here's a list of my New Year's resolution verses:
2004~ Romans 12:2
2005~ Isaiah 43:18-19
2006~ Matthew 6:33
2007~ Colossians 4:2
I'm not sure what my verse for 2008 will be yet, I'm still praying and seeking His direction but I'll keep you posted, no pun intended. : )
I'd like to hear your resolutions.

Hey Cheryl,

It is so nice to meet you! I saw your comment on Linda's blog and wanted to pop over and meet you.

I love what you said about New Years resolutions...as a matter of fact I haven't made one in years either, but like to use it as a time to reflect, prepare, and seek God for what He has in store for the next season of my life.

For so many years my life verse was 1 John 3:18, then a couple of weeks ago I changed my blog and added Romans 12:2, and now my new life verse (year) is Acts 20:24.

I read some of your other posts and while I can't share your love of the Bull Dogs (we are Auburn people) I can share the love of the South and southern people with you (former KY girl moved to South Florida).

It is so nice to meet ya. I hope you stop over to Mel's World for a quick visit!

Take Care,
Melissa
