You like me, you really like me!!!

Ok, maybe I'm mimicking Sally Field but I've been given an award!!! Not an Oscar or anything like that but something better! Kelli, who is a fellow pastor's wife, gave me this:

She had some really sweet comments about my blog and it is humbling to know that someone who you've never met in real life, looks forward to reading about what's happening in my life! I love reading her blog as well, so If you have some time, stop by for a visit!

Now I am going to return the blessing!
Here are 2 friends who ~make my day~ when I see that their blogs have been updated!

Cindy, Still His Girl, has one of the best blogs ever! She will make you laugh, make you think and challenge you in your walk with the Lord! I look forward each day to seeing what's happening in her neck of the woods!

Shelley, is a friend from Woodstock and I love reading her blog each day. I love keeping up with her family and hearing about things from home. She is also a excellent bible teacher, so if you're looking for someone to speak at an event, I highly recommend her! (your welcome, Shelley!)

These are just two women who encourage me. There are so many more, I wish I could name them all!

Thanks again, Kelli!

Update

I saw this rainbow Saturday morning. It literally looked like it reached from one end of our town to the other! I know this picture doesn't do it justice but this was the most beautiful rainbow I'd ever seen. We know that rainbows represent God's promises to us. Promises like hope, His presence, new mercy every morning, everlasting life to name just a few.
When I saw this rainbow Saturday morning, I had no idea that in just a short while, I would hear about a tragedy that is the fear of every parent. And with that news, everything changed. Thoughts of rainbows, plans for the day all seemed so insignificant.
But you know what didn't change?

GOD.

His Promises.

Those will never, ever change.

Don't ever lose sight of that!

Thank you all for your sweet comments and for your prayers. Please keep praying. The father of this little girl seems to be having the hardest time with this tragedy.

Please pray right now!

I just answered a phone call from a gentleman in our church. A precious family desperately needs our prayers. Their little 2 year old girl was killed this morning in an accident. Her older brother was backing the car up on the driveway and didn't realize that she was behind the car.
This family doesn't attend our church but their kids sometimes come to our Awana program. Steven is on his way right now to be with them.
I'm so stunned, I didn't know what else to do other than to ask you to join me in prayer.
Let's cry out to Jesus on their behalf.

FINALLY!!!!

After a month of wiggling and twisting, this stubborn tooth finally came out.
Dougie is 7 (8 in July) and this is only the 3rd tooth he's lost, so we're a little excited!

p.s. Emma discovered the truth. She found the 'evidence' the other night! When I walked and caught her, she gave me a look of disbelief and said, "After all these years......"

What day is it?!

Emma and Dougie were out of school yesterday, so I'm messed up on my days.
We had a great day yesterday. The kids were troopers and cleaned out their toy boxes. I'll spare you the details and I didn't even take a picture of the HUGE pile of toys but needless to say, we have lots of good stuff for the upcoming yard sale!
After working so hard, we watched one of our all time favorite movies, Facing the Giants. While Dougie cheered on the Shiloh Eagles, Emma and I baked these cookies. They were yum-ME!

After lunch and a few cookies, the kids played in the water hose, on the trampoline!

Today was an exciting day in our little town.

The Tour De Georgia past through, so Caleb and I went down town to see the cyclist. It was pretty cool but Caleb really wasn't into it. I wish Emma and Dougie could have seen it.

The Bloggy Giveaways Carnival started yesterday. Stop by and register to win, you don't have to have a blog tp enter. I hope to give something away. I'll let you know soon!

One day I might do this.....

This is for all you ladies married to pastors. Have you ever wanted to run up to the pulpit and tell the "whole" story, when your hubbie is using an illustration about your family?
Well, Mrs. Janet Hunt did just that a couple of weeks ago during the Sunday morning service at First Woodstock. For those of you not familiar with FBCW, when she did this, she did it in front of 7000 people!! What a brave woman!
To watch it use the link below. If you have an hour or so to spare, watch the whole service. You will be blessed. If not, Pastor Johnny starts the message at about 36 minutes. He begins the illustration at 52 minutes.

Click here to watch the service!

For those of you who don't get used in sermon illustrations, this will let you know that you probably aren't always hearing the "whole" story when the pastor tells a story about his family!

Somebody......Stop Me!!!!!

If you read my post yesterday, you know that I've gotten on a cleaning streak. Well you see, I have this shelf. It's in my laundry room. It's a great place for storage except that.......................

....It's gotten a little bit out of control.

I mean, everybody needs a place where you can store extra toilet paper, paper towels, an inflatable baby pool, board games, an ice cream maker, an infant bath tub, beach towels, batting helmets, large serving dishes, infant car seat accessories, a tripod, baskets, quilts and surely everyone has........a fax machine.....in their laundry room.

But after the new pack of paper towels that I purchased yesterday, kept falling off the shelf, I knew it was time to take some action!

TA-DA!!!!

Yes, I kept the fax machine on the shelf. It provides all kinds of entertainment for the button-pushing maniac, otherwise known as Caleb, while I'm doing the laundry.

Spring Cleaning

Since this week started, I have been doing some cleaning. Is today really only Tuesday? I feel like it's later in the week. Y'all, this morning I actually looked at Caleb and asked him what day it was! His reply....ELMO.
Anyway, sorry to get off track.
I have been bitten by the cleaning bug! It started from my home sanctuary task for Monday and I haven't stopped since!
Here's what I've accomplished so far:

*Cleaned both bathrooms and I'm not talking a swish with the toilet bowl brush and wiping off the counter. I mean I have scrubbed every inch of both bathrooms.

*Cleaned out the closets in our room and in the boys room. I haven't got the courage to tackle Emma's yet.

*Put away winter clothes. Although I don't know why since the weather has turned cold again!

*Vacuumed Ok, not really a spring cleaning thing but it was necessary.

*Mopped the kitchen- same as above

*Laundry, the never-ending chore!

We are having a church wide yard sale in May to raise money for our Costa Rica trip. I actually told someone the other day, "I don't really have alot of stuff to sell." Boy was I wrong! I have 2 huge piles in my hallway plus a huge bag of stuff that's going to Goodwill. Imagine what it will look like after I tackle Emma's room!

I've found some new blogs and I thought you might enjoy them. This one is a long lost sister, sorority sister that is! This one I found just today and I think we have a lot in common. And this one is just plain fun!

Monday, Monday......

I have absolutely nothing newsworthy to blog about.

Our weekend was rainy and pretty uneventful.
We were supposed to have the opening day of ball season for the kids but all the games and festivities were rained out. Dougie & Emma were really bummed, especially since they scheduled the makeups for next Saturday and they will be on a trip to D.C. with their dad.
We laid around, watched tv, read and did absolutely nothing!

Sunday was a great day, although it was still rainy. Steven has been preaching a series on Discipleship, What it means to follow Christ. He has been preaching some tremendous messages and one deacon came up to me yesterday and said this. "I started to bring Steven some water while he was preaching this morning." Looking confused, I asked, " why?" He replied, "Cause he was on fire!" I couldn't agree more!

Tomorrow, Steven has a meeting at the GBC and since we're coming from out of town, they will pay for a hotel stay. My parents live not far from there, so we're going to drop Caleb off in the morning and have a little get away. And while Steven is in his meeting, I might just go to the Mall of Georgia ALL BY MYSELF!!!!! I might even walk into a real live Starbucks and get a "cawkee."

I know I haven't posted anything in a while and I hate to put up another video but this one is of a more serious nature. It's about 8 minutes long but please take the time to watch it. We Christians have to be aware of what's happening in our culture.
