FPhoto Friday

I've never participated in Natalie's fPhoto friday before. I don't consider myself a photographer by any means! But we've (meaning Dougie and I) captured some neat shots this week. But unlike you ladies who are talented, I won't be listing a fancy camera or lens size because these photos were captured with *gasp* my cellphone camera!

On the way to school yesterday morning, I noticed that Dougie and Emma were unusually quiet. When I looked in my rear view mirror, this is what I saw~ So glad that my kids LOVE to read!Sorry it's off center and a little blurry, I was trying to take the picture without her knowing!

I actually pulled off the side of the road to capture this photo yesterday afternoon. Dougie titled it "the glory of the Lord."

Dougie took this photo this afternoon~

Dougie told me on the way home that he might be a photographer when he grows up. Let's just hope he doesn't follow his momma's example and take photos while driving, with a cellphone!

Love y'all!

God of this City

Some wonderful people at our church put together this amazing video. It's become the theme for our revival this week. For those of you who don't know him, my hubby is the one doing the baptizing in the river. You'll also see a picture of Caleb's hand in my hand. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do.

OUR SCRIPTURE FOCUS

...We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:14-15 NLT

Dougie did great today! He came through with flying colors.
Thanks for the prayers!
Love y'all!

Say a little prayer for my Dougie today. He's having his adenoids taken out and having tubes put in his ears.
Thanks!

We had a very busy weekend around here. We started by celebrating Valentine's on Friday evening. Steven and I went out to dinner by ourselves and had a great time.

On Saturday morning, we had a pancake breakfast for the children of our church. While the breakfast was being cooked, the kids made almost 100 Valentines. After we ate, we took all the Valentines to our local nursing home to deliver them to the residents. It was such a blessing to see our children being a blessing to others!

Later that day, Dougie had his basketball game. My mom, dad, my sister Laura and her son, Chaz and my neice Mia came. Mom, Dad and and Mia planned on spending the night with us but Laura and Chaz had to head back Sat. evening. But when it came time to go, Chaz ended up staying the night too!
Dougie had a great b-ball game!
On Saturday evening, our youth hosted a dinner theater, "The Not-So Newly Wed Game." It was a great time of laughing and the dinner they served was delicious!

The youth performed different commercials and songs. One group of boys perfomed "Elvira" by the Oakridge Boys. Emma, Dougie and Mia enjoyed it so much that when we got home Sat. evening, we got an encore performance. Excuse the mess in the background.......

On Sunday, the children and youth wanted to do something special for Steven, so they asked me to get the keys to his car. This is what they did~

His car was covered with sticky note Valentine's!!! Some were so cute and funny!

This one cracks me up, "Jesus hearts you and I am trying."
Well I think that's enough about our weekend.
Love y'all!

Real Life Review

Our focus in prayer today is not only praying for our President but also for the men who affected by abortion.

OUR SCRIPTURE FOCUS:

3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.

5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Psalm 127:3-5

Update

I went for my 30 week check up today. Everything continues to look great, according to my Dr. We did discuss scheduling an inducement. Since we are an hour away from the hospital, we're a little leery about letting it happen naturally. Steven doesn't want to be delivering a baby on the side of the road and neither do I! We did this with Caleb and he was born within 4 hours of starting the pitocin. So as of today, we will be having our baby on April 16th. woo-hoo!!
Since Steven was unable to go to the dr. with me today, Caleb had to go with me to the triage room, where they take your blood pressure and weight before you see the dr. He was very curious about everything they were doing to me, pricking my finger, taking my blood pressure and was just taking it all in. The last thing the nurse asked me to do was to step on the scale, as I was walking to it, Caleb loudly asks, "Are you gonna cry, momma?" The nurses and every woman who heard his question cracked up. One lady answered him and said, "Yes sweetheart, all women cry when they stand on that thing!" Too cute!

Real Life Review

Here is today's prayer focus as we pray for President Obama and Michelle.

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die;
save them as they stagger to their death.
Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.”
For God understands all hearts, and he sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.
Proverbs 24:11-12 NLT

1 Timothy 4:12

Early last week, I encouraged y'all to visit Kaylan's blog and read a post she had written. I thought maybe some of you could offer her some advice on the situation. It a was a couple of days later before I realized that MY Emma had written this post on her blog (I'd give you the link but we keep her blog private for family and friends only), this is what she wrote~

Hey everyone! My cousin Kaylan, http://kakeeter.blogspot.com/ is having
a little of a tough time. Would you please pray for her she's having a
little bit of trouble. You can click on that link to go to her blog and read
it for yourself. The title of the post is Thought for the Day: Burn and
Learn. Plz plz plz PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ pray for her because I love her dearly
and to make the right decisions and make it thru this all right. Thank you
and be sure to leave a comment.
When I read her post, I was so proud of her. She knew that the best thing she could ask you to do for her cousin was to PRAY!! This momma's heart was about to bust! After reading this, I went back to Kaylan's blog to see if anyone had left her any comments and I was AMAZED at the comments Emma left to encourage her cousin!

Hey KK! Sounds to me like you are having a rough time!! I wish I could help
but the only thing I can think of to do is pray for you and this situation and
let GOD take care of everything!! I will pray for you and always remember that I
LOVE you!!! And nothing ABSALOUTLY NOTHING can change that!!! Just pray and let God handle the rest and if you feel like he's leading you to do something, pray
about it one more time and if you keep feeling that urge that's what GOD wants
YOU to do!! I LOVE YOU KK!!!!! Miss you & I am & will pray for you
whenever I get a chance! Remember to pray & let GOD handle it! Don't try to
handle it on your own because we are nothing without GOD!1 Corinthians 14:31For
you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.I
love you and here's anotherPhilippians 1:3-4I thank my GOD upon every
remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you be with
joy.I love you!! Miss you!! Talk to you later KK! Be sure to check out my
blog!Miss you lots and love you lots and lots more!!
January 30, 2009 7:45 PM
And then she left this comment:

Here's a few more that talks about letting GOD handle it:Philippians 4:13I can
do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the LORD
with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.I love you and I hope these
words of encouragement help!! And if you need any more encouragement all you
have to do is say so! I'm happy to help!!

I was so blessed by Emma's comments. Not only did she encourage Kaylan to pray but she directed her to God's word as a source of strength, comfort and direction! WOW! Y'all she's only ELEVEN! When Emma was in Kindergarten her teachers gave each student a "Most Likely To.." award, guess what they said about Emma~

Most Likely to be a Woman's Christian Motivational Speaker!

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set the example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Retreat Recap....a little late

I left last Thursday to attend the Minister's Wives retreat hosted by the GBC. I had a great time and went not knowing anyone. But when I got there, I saw Amy, who I had met 2 years ago at the Ga. Baptist Convention. We've emailed a little of the past 2 years but it was really great to get to spend some time with her and get to know her better. She came with another pastor's wife named Nicole and Amy's college roommate, Frances was at the retreat with her friend Paula. So the 5 of us ending up hanging out together most of the weekend. The speakers were great, the food was good, the music was good (but it's hard when you just experienced Travis at FBCW), the spa day was fun and the fellowship was so encouraging! I didn't take many pics...
me, Nicole, Amy. Paula and Frances

Paula and I getting our feet treated!
Now this next picture has absolutely nothing to do with the retreat but while I was driving to the retreat, through deep south Ga., I passed this house that had these flags on their flagpole:

Yes, that is a rebel flag with President Obama's picture on it and the word 'hope'. When I saw it, my first was response was "HUH?!?!" I couldn't resist turning around to take a picture. It just doesn't seem to make sense does it? I wonder how President Obama would feel about his picture being on a rebel flag.
Love Ya'll!

Real Life Review

Take a moment today and ask God to change our President's heart on abortion.
Please go to Melinda's blog to read more and watch a video to hear in his own words what our President's views on 'choice'.
