I'm typing this from hotel room in Lousiville, Kentucky. We are here for the Southern Baptist Convention.
This morning we went to a church that we knew nothing about. When we arrived at the church this morning, we found out that Dr. Frank Page was their guest speaker. Dr. Page is the former President of the SBC and is now on the White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. During his sermon, Dr. Page mentioned this committee and the fact that he never dreamed he would have this kind of opportunity. He also made this statement, (it's not an exact quote but it's pretty close),
"I know that I am the 'right-wing fundamentalist' on this committee but I will unashamedly stand and be voice for the Pro-Life movement and the unborn child."
To which the congregation gave resounding applause and lots of AMENS, myself included.

After the service, Steven and I got to meet Dr. Page and share with him that we live in Millen, he used to pastor in Augusta so he was very familiar with Millen. I then shared with him that I am part of a group of bloggers whose purpose to pray and ask God to change President Obama's heart on abortion. Dr. Page was so encouraged and asked us to keep praying. He said that he has a very good relationship with President Obama but that it gets "pretty tense" when it comes to the issue of abortion.

I was so excited about this. It's so easy to get discouraged when you're praying and not seeing any change. But God really used this to encourage me and to renew my passion about praying for our President.

So my challenge to you is, as we pray for our President, lets lift up Dr. Page as well. God has placed him in a key position for a reason.

Love y'all dearly!

2 months old

Ok, technically Asher was 2 months old yesterday but an-ee-way.
I can't believe it's been 2 months already. Asher's name means blessed and he has blessed our lives. He such a sweet natured baby and we just love him to pieces. He's still not sleeping through the night but my hopes are high that he will start any day now.....tonight would be a great time to start!

He is beginning to coo, will turn his head when he hears your voice and we've seen a few little smiles. I've tried to get a picture but the smiles don't happen often enough to be able to catch a picture.
Asher at 2 months:
weight: 12.1 lbs.
height: 23 in.
head circumference: 15 and a half inches

Poor baby had to get 3 shots today but he was a trooper.

Here's some pictures, they're not very good but it was the best I could get with a 2 year old climbing on my back!

This one cracks me up! He seems to be thinking, "Yeah, what-eva!"

This picture is priceless! "Help me Momma, he's gonna get me!!!"

Love Y'all!

I just have a minute to blog. We've been at our 1st annual children's camp since Sunday evening. It was soooooo great! We had 6 children make a 1st time commitment to Christ! Go God!
I'll post some pics soon.
Emma, Dougie and Caleb left yesterday after camp to spend a few days with my parents. We're going to go up tonight and we're all going to Six Fl*gs tomorrow, so I'll be absent from the blog a few more days.

Go eat a popsicle!

Love Y'all,

The Waltons meet American Idol

Last night we were putting the kids to bed and they began yelling good night to each other from their rooms. Being a child of the 70's, I had immediate flashbacks of the Waltons and couldn't resist yelling, "Good night John Boy." Then for dramatic effect, I continued, "Good night Sue Ellen." To which, Caleb, who I remind you is 2, yelled,

"Good night Kris Allen!"

I couldn't make this stuff up if I wanted to!!!
