I'm baaaack!

When I posted two weeks ago, I had every intention of posting on that Friday to let you all 2 of you who read my blog know that I would be gone the following week to Panama City Beach for our annual family vacation. But as you know, I didn't. No matter how many times I blinked my eyes or twitched my nose, those silly suitcases wouldn't pack themselves. And since I was basically packing for all 6 of us, I wanted to make sure I didn't forget anything. Because who would go on a beach trip and forget to pack a swimsuit for your 2 year old son?

That.would.be.me!

I would like to blame it on the fact that I was blogging but that would be a big fat lie! Thank goodness my sister packed like 5 swimsuits for her son and they generously allowed Caleb to wear Chaz's beloved 'Mater" swimsuit!

We had a great week at the beach. The weather was hot but great! Only had rain once or twice. Asher had a great time, he would sleep for hours in his stroller under the tent on the beach! I think every picture I have of him, he was sleeping!

Speaking of pics, I've misplaced my camera cord so I can't show you any pics. But I ordered one today, so it's sure to turn up now!
Here's a picture that I snagged from facebook of our group. Not everyone in this picture is related but we are definitely family. Let me try to explain this crew.

In late 70's or early 80's, my family (mom, dad, son and 3 daughters) began going to Panama City Beach with another family (mom, dad and 2 daughters). Sometime in the mid-80's we added my future SIL to the mix. We continued this tradition until the summer of 1989. No one really knows why we stopped going, we just did.

Then in 2003(I think), my family (mom, dad, siblings, spouses and kids)rented a beach house in PCB and we found out that the other family was going to be in PCB the same time and were staying in the condos right next to us. And with that, the tradition was reborn. Our group has grown from the original 10 to 29! I think this was the first year since we restarted that no one was pregnant!

So there you have it, our PCB family!

Love y'all!

I only have a moment but I have to share with you something Caleb said last night. Caleb has developed a fear of the dark and he won't into any room if the light is off. The other night I asked Caleb to take his shoes to his room and he said "but it's dark back there." When Steven heard him, he told him, "it's ok because Jesus is with you, even if it's dark. He went on to tell him, "Jesus is always with you so you don't have to be afraid."

So last night, we got home from the gym and I told Caleb to go to his room so we could get his pjs on and this is what he said,

"But Jesus said it's dark back there!"
Have a great day!

Catching Up

Well at least I'm getting this post up before another week has gone by!
We had a great week last week except for one day when Emma and Steven were sick. But thankfully they were better by the weekend. Last Friday night we watched fireworks at our rec. dept. and had a great time. I'd show you some pics but I can't find my camera cord to upload them! On Saturday, we had a cookout at our house. We had a lot of fun, eating, letting the kids hit a "pinyana" as Caleb calls it and then shooting off our own fireworks!
So how did you celebrate the 4th?

If you follow me on twitter, you know he greatest thing happened this past weekend. On Friday night Asher slept from 11:30 til 5:30 am! Then on Sat. night(and every night since) he slept from 11:30 til 7am!! Thank you sweet Jesus!!!!

Caleb is just about on the potty train. (If this doesn't make sense, read this.) He wore his big boy underwear to the gym last night with no accidents.....I can hear that train whistle! woo-hoo!
***UPDATE***
Caleb has wet his underwear 2 times this morning...ugh!!!! The train has derailed!!!

We're headed to the beach this Saturday and I am soooo ready! If anybody at there is going to be in the PCB area next week let me know! Ok Mardell, I know you will be, I'll see you there!

Well I guess that's all for now.

Love y'all dearly!

I'm still here!

I can't believe it's been over a week since my last post.
I don't have anything to share today.....wait...nope...still nothing!
I must have thought a hundred times over the past few days, "I've got to blog about that" but for the life of me, I can't remember any of them!

Oh well!

We had a great time at the Southern Baptist Convention......oh I just remembered one!

On the night after Pastor Johnny was re-elected, we were invited to a get together to celebrate. When we walked in the room, there were some big name people there. (I realize that they're just people too but still!) I'm talking past Presidents of the SBC (and probably future ones too!) all the Presidents of the Southern Baptist Seminaries were there as well as every well known Southern Baptist preacher that you could name! It was very informal and every one was standing around the room listening as different ones shared what Pastor Johnny has meant to them. Steven, Caleb, Asher and I took a spot against the wall which happened to be where some of the seminary Presidents were standing. At one point, Asher got a little fussy, so I stepped out of the room. I stood by the door with some others so I could still hear. A few minutes later, Caleb saw me at the door and begin squirming from Steven to get to me. Steven told him to walk quietly to me, which he did but as he walked by these great men of God, he waved and gave each one of them a 'what's up dude' kind of look! Needless to say, he had their full attention.

Well, it's time I get off this computer and get started on the laundry....oh the fun never ends!
Ten days until we go to the beach! woo hoo!!!!

Love y'all
