Caleb is 2!!!

Well, Caleb's birthday was actually last Friday and we celebrated the Saturday before, so I'm a little late. But hey, better late than never!

Caleb you bring so much joy and laughter to our lives. I can't believe you've only be around for 2 years! Here are some of the things you say and do that make life so fun!
~Whenever you see Fox News on the tv, you yell, "John McCain!"
~You now refer to John McCain like he's a friend. You tell him bye when you walk out of the room. The other night, after supper, you said, "I enjoyed it John McCain!"
~Because of the influence of Fox in your life, you're fair and balanced, you will also say, "'Brock' Obama!"
~And because mommy hearts her, you now say, "Sarah Palin!"
~You love to figure things out and now you are constantly saying, "how did work, daddy?"
~You love saying your prayers at night and you will grab hands and say, "say pray."
~You can sing your ABC's up to J!
~You love music and your absolute favorite song is "san-chew-wary" or otherwise known as "Sanctuary" by Travis Cottrell!
~You love to play tiger. You growl and crawl on the floor and get people's toes!
~You love to read books.
~When we ride in the car, you love to say, "I'anna go dat way mommy." And I don't know how you do it but every single time it's the exact opposite way of the way we need to go!

I could go on and on! Everything you do is so cute, funny, brilliant and priceless! Mommy, Daddy, Emma and 'Broder' love you so much!

***While I was waiting on my pictures to load, Caleb just came up to me and said, "Mommy I spilled." He had removed his diaper a few minutes ago and "spilled" on the floor. Don't think we're ready for potty training yet!

She was also able to sit in a chair for about an hour!

Thanks for all your prayers!

Update

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've updated you. Thank you all for your sweet comments and prayers for my grandmother. As of today, Monday, she is still hanging in there. The doctors continue to say that her kidneys are deteriorating but that she is putting out more urine. Go figure?! Please be praying for my mom and her siblings today because they will have to make some decisions today about her healthcare. I'll share more later about the precious time we were able to spend with her.

Last week was a crazy week! Steven and I were planning on attending Timothy-Barnabas, a Pastor's conference, that we go to every year. When we left last Tuesday, we packed as if we were going to be able to attend the conference but knowing that it probably wouldn't work out.
But God is so good! Even though my mom wasn't able to keep Caleb, my sister had taken off work all week. (They just closed on their new house and were trying to move in! I told you it was crazy!!) So Caleb was able to hang out with Aunt Laura, Uncle Phil and Chaz. The hotel where the conference was being held was 20 minutes away from the hospital where my grandmother was, so we were able to visit her each day!
Just a word about the pastor's conference, if you've never gone, it is a MUST! Pastor Johnny and Mrs. Janet do an excellent job encouraging and loving on pastor's and their wives. They absolutely spoil the wives by giving you a gift EVERY time a session ends! We received things like a super cute black and white polka dot bag, a bracelet, a set of make-up bags, and some other things that I can't remember right now. And during the ladies' sessions, they gave away diamond earrings and necklaces, which I didn't win :( but oh well. I also had fun getting to hang out with Hollie, IRL! And she'll probably have a thousand new readers since her mom told everyone about her blog!!!!
Oh yeah, the first night of the conference, we were able to see the new movie Fireproof. It was sooooo good! If you have the chance the weekend, you NEED to go see this movie. It's released this Friday!!!!

One more important thing that happened this past Friday......
my baby boy turned 2!!!
We'd already celebrated his birthday the Sat. before (it seems like a lifetime ago) and hopefully, I'll get some pictures posted soon! But right now, I've got to go cause my house is a wreck and I've got so much laundry to do, I may never catch up!

Thanks again for all your prayers.
I love you guys!

Please Pray

This is a picture of my grandmother, or as we all call her now, G.G. As I've shared over the past few weeks (I think), she has been very sick. She went back into the hospital last week. My sister called me just a little while ago to tell me that her prognosis isn't good. Her body is just tired of fighting. We are headed to Atlanta in the morning to see her. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank y'all.

Thursday 13, Remembering Sept. 11, 2001

1. Sept. 11, 2001 was a beautiful fall day.
2. I was teaching pre-k and we had just come in from morning recess.
3. Our Asst. director, came into my classroom and told us (me and my asst.) that our country was under attack.
4. 2 planes had hit the Twin Towers and one had hit the Pentagon.
5. I was stunned, shocked and could hardly comprehend what she was telling us.
6. After she left the room, my asst. and I turned on the radio to hear the news.
7. I remember the announcers talking about the strength of the buildings to withstand such a horrific hit.
8. Within the hour, both of those magnificent buildings would be no more.
9. And then we heard of another plane.
10. Why would it crash in a field in Pennsylvania?
11. Later we would know of the heroes on board Flight 93.
12. Who would give the ultimate sacrifice, to stop this evil plan.
13. September 11th is a day that I pray we will never, ever forget!

A little peak......

I know I've needed to update my blog but I haven't had anything to write about. No cute kid stories, no spiritual insights, no embarassing moments.....nothing. So this morning while I was walking on the treadmill at the gym, I had an idea. Let me give you a little peak into my life.

THE GYM
When you hear those words you probably think of Bally's or Gold's. Well, our little gym is nothing like those! There are no personal trainers, no aerobics instructors or classes. Our gym has 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, 2 bikes and several weightlifting machines. We also have 2 tanning beds, lest you forget that we are in South Georgia!
This morning, as well as most mornings, I was the only person working out.
Our gym is owned by a sweet retired couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Caleb loves going to see Mrs. Jones because while Mommy is exercising she will watch tv with him and play with him. And if mommy goes to the gym at the right time in the morning, we get to see the train come through town. It won't do for Mrs. Jones to let Caleb just see the train through the window. No ma'am, she will take him across the streeet to sit on the bench and watch it go by!
Now I miss aerobic classes and such but nothing beats the personal care we get at our little gym!

So what about you? What simple thing about your life do you love?

Palin Power!!!

I don't usually touch on political stuff here but I just have to say that Sarah Palin's speech was outstanding! I saw this video that is an edited version, with some of the highlights.

My favorite quote from the night was:
"In politics, there are some candidates, who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."

Why didn't I buy these when I had the opportunity this morning?

I'm having a serious dark chocolate craving and these are soooooo good!
