Praises!!!!

My dad called me last night to give me some GREAT news about my grandmother. Sorry if this is tmi but it's the best way to tell you! On Sun. her kidneys were putting out about 250ccs of urine. Yesterday, her kidneys were putting out over 600ccs!
She was also able to sit in a chair for about an hour!

Update

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've updated you. Thank you all for your sweet comments and prayers for my grandmother. As of today, Monday, she is still hanging in there. The doctors continue to say that her kidneys are deteriorating but that she is putting out more urine. Go figure?! Please be praying for my mom and her siblings today because they will have to make some decisions today about her healthcare. I'll share more later about the precious time we were able to spend with her.

Last week was a crazy week! Steven and I were planning on attending Timothy-Barnabas, a Pastor's conference, that we go to every year. When we left last Tuesday, we packed as if we were going to be able to attend the conference but knowing that it probably wouldn't work out.
But God is so good! Even though my mom wasn't able to keep Caleb, my sister had taken off work all week. (They just closed on their new house and were trying to move in! I told you it was crazy!!) So Caleb was able to hang out with Aunt Laura, Uncle Phil and Chaz. The hotel where the conference was being held was 20 minutes away from the hospital where my grandmother was, so we were able to visit her each day!
Just a word about the pastor's conference, if you've never gone, it is a MUST! Pastor Johnny and Mrs. Janet do an excellent job encouraging and loving on pastor's and their wives. They absolutely spoil the wives by giving you a gift EVERY time a session ends! We received things like a super cute black and white polka dot bag, a bracelet, a set of make-up bags, and some other things that I can't remember right now. And during the ladies' sessions, they gave away diamond earrings and necklaces, which I didn't win :( but oh well. I also had fun getting to hang out with Hollie, IRL! And she'll probably have a thousand new readers since her mom told everyone about her blog!!!!
Oh yeah, the first night of the conference, we were able to see the new movie Fireproof. It was sooooo good! If you have the chance the weekend, you NEED to go see this movie. It's released this Friday!!!!

One more important thing that happened this past Friday......
my baby boy turned 2!!!
We'd already celebrated his birthday the Sat. before (it seems like a lifetime ago) and hopefully, I'll get some pictures posted soon! But right now, I've got to go cause my house is a wreck and I've got so much laundry to do, I may never catch up!

Please Pray

This is a picture of my grandmother, or as we all call her now, G.G. As I've shared over the past few weeks (I think), she has been very sick. She went back into the hospital last week. My sister called me just a little while ago to tell me that her prognosis isn't good. Her body is just tired of fighting. We are headed to Atlanta in the morning to see her. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank y'all.

I'd like to hear what you think. At what age do you think it is appropriate for a girl to begin wearing make-up? Emma isn't asking (yet) but I saw a girl the other day, who is the same age as Emma, wearing make-up; eye liner, eye shadow, mascara, blush and lipstick. I was a little caught off guard and it's really got me thinking, at what age should Emma begin? At what age did you begin wearing makeup? I was such a tomboy, I had no desire to wear it until I was about 13.
I can't wait to hear what you think about this subject.

Update- My grandmother is steadily improving. She's out of ICU and will probably begin some physical therapy soon. A full week in the bed can do a number on an 83 yr. old body! Please continue to pray for her and I'd like to ask you to pray for my grandfather as well. He is in the beginning stages of dementia and this past week has been confusing for him. Yesterday, he knew that my grandmother was in the hospital but he thought she was having a baby. (I know we shouldn't laugh, but it's either laugh or cry and I choose to laugh!) To give you a taste of my grandmother's personality, when he asked her (on the phone)last night if she had had the baby. She told him,

"Yes, I had triplets!"

Update, First of school and other stuff...

Thank y'all for praying my grandmother. I just got off the phone with my mom and she is doing much better. She will hopefully be put into a regular room this afternoon. Please keep praying!

Today is the first day of school for Emma and Dougie. Emma is going to 5th grade and Dougie is going to 2nd. They are very excited about the school year and they were even nervous on the way to school this morning!

In between my trip to see GG and church yesterday, we have been watching the Olympics as much as possible. I was almost late to SS yesterday morning because I was watching the US Soccer team play the Netherlands. This is evidence that I LOVE the Olympics because I know nothing about soccer and probably never will!
If you didn't stay up to watch the men's 4x100 swimming relay, you missed and absolute AMAZING race. To add insult to injury, the French swimmers had been quoted saying before the event that, "we're going to smash the Americans, that's why we came." Even the commentators didn't think the USA would win.
Well, Team USA showed the French a little Proverbs 16:18!

Please pray for my grandmother. She was diagnosed with pneumonia a couple of days ago and was put in ICU last night. She has diabetes and is also battling some other sicknesses right now. I'm on my way to see her today.
Since she became a great-grandmother about 13 yrs ago, we affectionately call her G.G.
